Race analysis, favourites, and predictions for UEC Road European Championships ME - ITT 2025
After the intense emotions of the UCI World Championships in Kigali and with hardly any time to rest, it is now time for the UEC European Championships. As tradition dictates, the competition will begin with the time trial events, all scheduled for Wednesday, October 1st, where the continent’s best specialists will be put to the test.
The course
Both the men’s and women’s elite categories will share a 24 km route with 216 meters of elevation gain, mainly concentrated in the final climb to Étoile-sur-Rhône (1.1 km at 5.2%). Despite this climb, the route is much more favorable to pure time trialists than the demanding profile of the recent Worlds.
Women’s race: the favorites
The start list is still provisional, but one name already stands out above the rest: Marlen Reusser (1000), the big favorite for the title. Among the Swiss rider’s main rivals are Juliette Labous (1000), Anna Henderson (800), Cédrine Kerbaol (800), Agnieska Skalniak-Sójka (400) and Anna Kiesenhofer (200).
Men’s race: the favorites
In the men’s race, all signs point to another duel between Remco Evenepoel (1200) and Filippo Ganna (800). Other strong contenders include Stefan Küng (600), Joshua Tarling (400), João Almeida (1200), Mads Pedersen (1200), Bruno Armirail (400), Stefan Bisseger (400) and Ethan Hayter (400).
