Atala was a cycling team created in 1908 that was present in the international peloton during three different periods of the 20th century: from its creation in 1908 to 1919, from 1946 to 1962, and in a final stage from 1978 to 1989, to which this jersey belongs. In this last stage, some of the most notable cyclists were Pierino Gavazzi (1980-1986) and a young Gianni Bugno (1985-1987).
