After racing for over a decade with the legendary Legnano team, in 1949 Gino Bartali decided to create his own team, which changed co-sponsors during the last six seasons of Bartali's career: it began as Bartali - Gardiol, continued as Bartali - Ursus, and ended as Bartali - Brooklin. During these seasons, Bartali won his fourth Milano-Sanremo and stages in the Giro d’Italia and the Tour de France.
