Roger De Vlaeminck was one of the greatest classics riders of all time. He won all five monuments, some of them multiple times (3 Milano-Sanremo, 4 Paris-Roubaix, 2 Il Lombardia, 1 Ronde Van Vlaanderen, and 1 Liège-Bastogne-Liège), and also claimed 22 stage victories in the Giro d'Italia. He was the national road champion in 1969 and 1981. Additionally, Roger De Vlaeminck was a specialist in cyclocross, where he became the world champion in 1975 and won the national championship three times (1974, 1975, and 1978).
