Bianchi was an Italian professional team sponsored by Bianchi bicycles, with which they competed. In 1899, a Bianchi cycling team already existed, indicating that Bianchi sponsored professional cycling in a very early stage of the sport. The team existed from 1899 to 1900, then from 1905 to 1966, and again from 1973 to 1984. It reappeared in 1993 and for the last time in 2003, as Team Bianchi.
In the years 1978 and 1979, Faema, another historic cycling sponsor known for manufacturing professional electric coffee makers, joined Bianchi as a co-sponsor of the team. During those years, the team leader was the veteran Felice Gimondi, who retired at the end of the 1979 season. Belgian cyclist Johan De Muynck won the 1978 Giro d'Italia while representing Bianchi - Faema.
