CLAS was a Spanish professional cycling team, created in 1988 by José Manuel Fuente, and with the milk company Central Lechera Asturiana as the main sponsor. In 1989, the sponsorship of the Caja de Ahorros de Asturias was joined, resulting in the name CLAS-Cajastur, by which it was known until 1993. One year after the team merged with the Italian structure of the Mapei team, and at the end of the 1994 season, it left the cycling world. The most outstanding triumphs of the team came as a result of the signing of the Swiss cyclist Tony Rominger, triple winner of the Vuelta a España and podium in the Tour de France.
