The Feira dos Sofás–Boavista team has its roots in the historic cycling structure linked to Boavista Futebol Clube, one of the most traditional sports clubs in Porto. Boavista's cycling section was founded in the 20th century and had a notable presence in the Portuguese calendar for several decades. After different periods of inactivity and restructuring, the project was relaunched with the support of the main sponsor Feira dos Sofás, adopting its current name. Since then, the team has competed at the UCI Continental level, representing the continuity of one of the cycling structures with the greatest tradition in Portugal.
