Leopard - Trek debuted in the 2011 season with a Luxembourg license and had as team leaders at that time the brothers Andy and Frank Schleck, who after having developed their career in the CSC/Saxo Bank structure of Bjarne Riis decided to join the project of a new team based in their country.
Several of the riders that the Schleck brothers had met on the Riis team, such as Fabian Cancellara and various domestiques, joined the project, as did riders from other ProTour teams.
Currently the team continues to compete under the name of Trek - Segafredo.
