Under the name Deceuninck-Quick Step, the team continues to compete today. It was founded in 2003 as a continuation of the historic Mapei team, with Patrick Lefevere as DS. Quick Step had already been a co-sponsor of Mapei in its last stage. It has a historic rivalry with the other Belgian UCI WorldTeam team, Lotto Soudal and has always stood out for its high level in the spring classics and other one-day events held in Flanders, Wallonia or northern France.
