From 1989 to 2008, the German Team Telekom (later T-Mobile) was one of the most prominent in the peloton. Starting from the 2009 season and until its dissolution at the end of the 2011 season, the team changed its license from German to American and had various names resulting from the combination of its three sponsors, HTC, Columbia, and HighRoad. One of the most outstanding cyclists on the team was a young sprinter named Mark Cavendish, who achieved 20 stage victories in the Tour de France during the 6 years he was part of the team.
