Oscar Freire is one of the best Spanish sprinters of all time. Although not the fastest among cyclists of his generation, Freire was a resilient sprinter, particularly excelling in long races, as evidenced by his three World Championships (1999, 2001, and 2004) and three victories in Milano-Sanremo (2004, 2007, and 2010).
