Lance Armstrong was the World Champion in 1993, surprising everyone at just 21 years old. This was before he won and later got stripped of his 7 Tour de France titles due to the US Postal doping scandal, and even before the testicular cancer that temporarily halted his cycling career and threatened his life. The World Championship is one of the few victories that still remain on his record.
